Why Should I Choose ICIU for Cultural CompetenceTraining?

ICIU provides dynamic, interactive training workshops to businesses, non-profit organizations, government agencies, schools, and individuals. How Will Cultural Competence Training Improve My Bottom Line?

Morale and team effectiveness can directly impact a business’s bottom line, and any organization’s effectiveness. Cultural competence training can foster increased morale and improve team effectiveness by giving employees the tools to better understand and appreciate each other, but also equip themwith the skills they need to go beyond awareness to action.  Consequently, employees will grow personally as well as professionally, and their organization will become more productive and efficient.

  1. ICIU cultural competence training educates individuals on the various aspects of diversity and cultural differences and better equips them to take positive action related to interpersonal relations.
  2. It improves understanding of the value of diversity and cultural differences in an organization.
  3. It empowers individuals by helping them consider their role in promoting multiculturalism within their organization.
  4. It motivates individuals to create an organizational culture in which diversity and cultural differences can thrive.

What is ICIU’s Innovative Approach to Cultural Competence Training Workshops?

ICIU encourages training participants to throw out the typical PowerPoint presentations of the past and “get real.” Boring, classroom-style lectures have no place in ICIU’s innovative approach. ICIU’s cultural competence workshops encourage an open, honest discussion about real issues currently facing organizations around the country. Our primary objective is to facilitate interactive dialogue between workshop participants, not to present facts and figures. Our training sessions invite participants to address key issues surrounding cultural differences and diversity and the significant role they play in a professional setting and in the personal lives of participants.

What Is “Synectics” and Why Does ICIU Use This Concept in Cultural Competence Training?

ICIU believes that fresh, innovative ways of understanding and communicating must be used to create real change. This is why we incorporate “the synectic approach” in our training sessions. The word “synectics” is derived from the Greek word “synecticos,” meaning the joining together or connecting of unrelated elements. Synectics is a creative and inventive thinking technique that uses analogies and metaphors to help analyze problems, gain new insights, and form different viewpoints.
