In addition to its regular fee-for-service interpretation and translation services in over 42 different languages, ICIU also offers a unique program of free emergency interpretive services to legal, health and service personnel. ICIU’s program is the only one of its kind in Iowa.
The emergency service is provided to medical
and law enforcement personnel serving limited English proficient
clients faced with life and death situations. This 24 hour, 7 day
a week service fills a community need through the generosity of
interpreters who volunteer their time.
